Haesung DS, a leading manufacturer of semiconductor components, announced that it has been certified as a Health Friendly Company under the ministry of Health and Welfare on December 11st. The company also receive the Minister’s Award as the top-performing organization in health friendly management.   The Health-Friendly Company Certification Program is a national initiative under the national Health Promotion Act that recognizes companies excelling in the implementation of heath-friendly systems. Certification is based on detailed evaluations in categories such as health-friendly management, organizational culture, activities, and employee satisfaction. Companies undergo a rigorous process of document review and on-site inspection to determine eligibility.   Among certified companies, the Ministry of Health and Welfare also selects the most exemplary organization to receive the Minister’s Award.   Haesung DS was highly rated for fostering a healthy working environment through robust health promotion programs supported by strong management commitment. The company’s initiatives include alcohol reduction programs, low-sodium meal plans, and ongoing anti-smoking campaigns. Haesung DS Recognized as a ‘CSR Corporation in the Community’ for six Consecutive Years

Haesung DS(CEO Cho-Byeong Hak) announced that it has been recognized a s a ‘CSR Corporation in the Community’ at the ‘2024 Community Contribution Recognition Day’.   The Community Contribution Recognition Program selects companies that have actively engaged in consistent community contribution activities in partnership with non-profit organizations. Haesung DS Wins a gold prize at the ‘2024 LACP Spotlight Awards’

  Global Recognition for Its 2023 Sustainability Management Report   Haesung DS announced that its 2023 Sustainability Management Report has won the Gold Award at the prestigious 2024 Spotlight Awards organized by the League of American Communications Professionals (LACP).   Established in 2001, LACP is a globally renowned marketing research organization in the field of communications. Every year, it evaluates more than 1,000 annual and sustainability reports fr|om over 20 countries. Reports are assessed based on six key criteria, with awards categorized as Platinum (Grand Prize), Gold, Silver, and Bronze based on overall scores. This year, around 500 companies fr|om 20 countries participated in the competition.   Despite being Haesung DS’s first report, the 2023 Sustainability Management Report achieved an impressive score of 98 points, earning a Gold Award. The report received perfect scores in key areas, including First Impression, Overall Narrative, Overall Visual Design, and Perceived Relevance, demonstrating its exceptional quality and authenticity.   The report outlines Haesung DS’s sustainability initiatives across Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) dimensions. Haesung DS Develops Super-Fine Pitch Stamped QFP Tools with ILP 110㎛

  Haesung DS, the specialist of package substrate for semiconductor, announced its successful development of the Super-Fine pitch Stamped QFP (Quad Flat Package) tools featuring an inner lead pitch (*ILP) 110㎛, surpassing the current industry standard of ILP 130㎛.   This latest innovation has been recognized as a significant technological advancement in the Fine Pitch QFP sector. It is expected to bolster Haesung DS’s competitive edge and facilitate its entry into new markets.   The ongoing trend in the semiconductor industry toward higher integration and enhanced performance has heightened the importance of lead frame precision and quality. In this context, ILP plays a pivotal role, as narrower pitches allow for a greater number of leads within a single package, enabling enhanced chip functionality and higher integration density. Haesung DS Achieves “A” Rating in 2024 ESG Evaluation by KCGS

Haesung DS, a leading package substrate manufacturer, announced that it has received an A rating in the 2024 ESG evaluation conducted by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability (KCGS). The achievement reflects the company’s commitment to promoting environmental responsibility and social value through its sustainable management efforts.   KCGS, a prominent ESG evaluation institution in South Korea, annually assesses companies overall sustainability management in the areas of Environmental(E), Social(S), and Governance(G) performance. The ESG evaluation serves as a key indicator to measure how effectively a company implements practices related to environmental protection, social responsibility, and transparent governance.   Since 2017, Haesung DS has consistently maintained the “A” rating in the ESG evaluation with only one exception(2022). This accomplishment ins attributed to the company’s continuous efforts to enhance internal processes and implement environmentally friendly policies while advancing social value across all sectors. Haesung DS, established a partnership with World Share to support schools in Philippine

Haesung DS Co., Ltd. (CEO Cho Byung-Hak), a subsidiary of Haesung Group located in the South Korea, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the international relief and development NGO World Share to support schools in the Philippines.   The signing ceremony, held on November 14 at the office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD Region 3) in Central Philippines, was attended by Haesung DS headquarters and its Philippine subsidiary, World Share’s Philippine branch, and DSWD Region 3 officials. Under the agreement, Haesung DS and World Share will each provide annual funding of 10 million KRW to improve school facilities and support children in need. This year, the initiative includes the provision of school supplies and daily necessities to students at Sitio Target Integrated School and the improvement of water sanitation facilities at Calumpang Elementary School.   Since 2016, Haesung DS has collaborated with World Share to assist underprivileged children in Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Last year, the company also contributed to emergency relief efforts following the earthquake in Türkiye. This school support project is part of Haesung DS’s community engagement efforts in partnership with its Philippine subsidiary, established in 2022. The supported schools and regions were selected through discussions with DSWD Region 3.   The regional Director of DSWD Region 3 welcomed the expansion of support fr|om Zambales to Pampanga province. She stated, “It is highly meaningful that Haesung DS, which has operations in the Philippines, is partnering to support children in this region. We look forward to continued collaboration in the future.”   The general Manager of Haesung DS Philippines affirmed, “Following the headquarters’ spirit of service and sharing, we will spare no effort to support local schools and children. We will actively work with the Philippine government and World Share to carry out meaningful initiatives.”   The executive Director of World Share expressed gratitude, saying, “We deeply appreciate Haesung DS for joining us in efforts to support children in the Philippines. We will continue working together to reach more children in need.”

Haesung DS Publishes Its first “2023 Sustainability Report”

  Advancing Toward a Sustainable Future Through ESG Management   Semiconductor package substrate manufacturer Haesung DS (195870, CEO Byung-Hak Cho) has released its inaugural 2023 Sustainability Report, detailing key achievements and goals in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) areas.   This report, based on the company’s first double materiality assessment, outlines Haesung DS’s ESG vision, “Sustainable Partner for the Environment, People, and the Future.” It presents strategies and actions aimed at promoting sustainable growth while addressing stakeholder concerns.   In the environmental sector, Haesung DS is working toward carbon neutrality by 2050. The company aims to increase the reuse rate of its total water withdrawal to 50% and achieve a 100% recycling rate for manufacturing waste by 2030. With ISO14001 certification and regular environmental audits, it continues to improve its sustainability efforts.   In the social sector, Haesung DS is fostering a safe and inclusive workplace by operating whistleblowing systems and harassment prevention centers. The company has obtained ISO45001 safety certification and strengthens risk prevention through regular safety training and supply chain assessments.   In the governance sector, Haesung DS has established a transparent management system, with its board overseeing strategy, performance, and risks. Haesung DS was awarded the Texas Instruments (TI) 2022 Supplier Excellence Award. TI, a leading semiconductor company., awards very few suppliers in each field among 12,000 partners around the world every year. The Supplier Excellence Award is an award given to companies that perform the best in criteria such as cost, environmental and social responsibility, technology, and quality. One Haesung DS official said, "We believe that we were recognized for stable supply along with on-time response and support despite difficult circumstances. What we appreciate more is, we are the only Korean company and leadframe manufacturer amongst 22 that were selected this year.” Considering TI and Haesung started business partnership just around 2 years ago, this award stands out further showing that both companies have a strong relationship and Haesung DS is fully capable of exploring new top-tier customers worldwide. On the 3rd, at the commemorative event for the 57th Taxpayer's Day in Changwon, Haesung DS received a certificate of appreciation for being selected as a 'Diligent Taxpaying Corporation.' The award was given to corporations that diligently pay local taxes and have no arrears, deficiencies, or deferred collections. Haesung DS won '600 million dollars export tower' in the 59th Trade Day reward ceremony

 Haesung DS won the $600 million Export Tower at the 28th Gyeongnam Trade Award Ceremony and the 59th Trade Day Rewards Ceremony. Based on the export figures for the second half of last year and the first half of this year, the award ceremony will award export towers to companies that have contributed to overseas market development and export growth, hosted by the Korea Trade Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Haesung DS won the $300 million export tower and $400 million export tower in 2018 and 2021, respectively, and Haesung DS's $600 million export tower this year is the result of remarkable growth that skipped the $500 million export tower in a year.

Haesung DS, signing ceremony for SPA acquisition of overseas site

Haesung DS, a semiconductor package substrate producer, announced that it had held a ceremony to sign a stock sale contract (SPA) to acquire overseas site in the Philippines. The acquisition target is PSMP (PSMC PHILIPPINES), a local subsidiary of PSMC (PSMC) in the Philippines, and will be incorporated into a subsidiary of Haesung DS 100% through stake acquisition. PSMP is a business with a lead frame production base, and Haesung DS plans to expand its product portfolio to power semiconductors that are growing rapidly in response to increased demand for automotive semiconductors such as electric vehicles and autonomous vehicles. More than 95% of Haesung DS sales come fr|om overseas customers, especially since major customers' semiconductor production facilities are located in Southeast Asia, there has been constant demand fr|om customers for local infrastructure production facilities. With this acquisition, Haesung DS expects to expand its lead frame market share by increasing synergy with customers. In addition, the company said, "We will finalize the contract within 2022 and contribute to future earnings through expanded investment."

Haesung DS holds a groundbreaking ceremony to expand Changwon plant operations

On July 12, Haesung DS held a groundbreaking ceremony to expand its production plant for lead frames and packaging substrates, which are core semiconductor components, at its Changwon plant. In March, Haesung DS signed an investment agreement of about 350 billion won with Gyeongsangnam-do and Changwon Special City, and plans to expand its production base, including high-tech facilities, with the aim of mass-producing in the second half of 2024. Haesung DS's main products, lead frames and packaging substrates, are essential parts for making semiconductor substrates, and they connect semiconductor chips and main substrates to deliver electrical signals and power and support chips. In particular, Haesung DS has established a solid position in memory package substrates, including automotive semiconductors, with its own technology and manufacturing method, and has achieved the third-largest market share in the global lead frame market in 2021. Through this investment, Haesung DS said it will actively respond to the growing demand for automotive semiconductors such as electric vehicles and self-driving cars, strengthen the competitiveness of fast-growing memory package substrates, and also hire more than 300 local talent to create jobs.

Haesung DS obtains a 'Gold' rating for zero waste landfill verification

Haesung DS announced on May 30 that its Changwon plant has obtained a Zero Waste To Landfill (ZWTL) verification. The "Zero waste landfill" verification is a standard that evaluates companies' resource circulation efforts conducted by UL, a global safety science institute established in the United States in 1894. Depending on the rate of recycling waste generated at the workplace, Platinum (100%), gold (99% to 95%), and silver (94% to 90%) grades are assigned. Haesung DS plans detailed environmental targets for the recycling rate of wastes generated in product production every year and promotes facility investment and innovation activities to achieve the target, and received a 'Gold rating' in recognition of 99% of the recycling rate in this evaluation. Meanwhile, Haesung DS consistently implemented 'green management' such as participation in biological diversity promotion activities, certification of environmental management system (ISO14001), and designation of green companies, and obtained an overall A grade for five consecutive years since the 2017 ESG evaluation.

Haesung DS achieved 'A' grade for 5 consecutive years in ESG evaluation

Since the start of the evaluation in 2017, Haesung DS has been recognized for its management performance by receiving an "integrated A grade" for five consecutive years in all sectors, including environment, social responsibility, and governance. 171 companies, including Haesung DS, received grade A in all categories and obtained grade A in ESG integration, accounting for 22% of the total. Among them, less than 2% of all companies are evaluated as integrated A grade or higher for five consecutive years. The evaluation results of Haesung DS are recognized for having a sustainable management system properly proposed by governance, environment, and social model standards, and for having little room for shareholder value damage due to non-financial risks, meaning that it continues stable ESG management activities. The Korea Corporate Governance Service has been evaluating the sustainable management level of listed companies in Korea since 2003, and classifies ESG grades into seven grades: S (excellent), A+ (very good), B+ (normal), C (weak), and D (very weak).

On June 9, 2017, in the 10th anniversary celebration of the company's establishment, Haesung DS was selected as the winner of the assembly material category.
