RESOURCE CIRCULATION

Resource Circulation

Haesung DS monitors the discharge and treatment processes of waste generated from all management activities
by type and contributes to resource recovery through recycling.

Promotion Strategy

Haesung DS monitors the discharge and treatment processes of waste generated from all management activities by type and contributes to resource recovery through recycling. Haesung DS resourcefully recycles electronic scrap and waste liquids generated during the manufacturing process, minimizing waste that is landfilled or incinerated, thereby achieving zero waste-to-landfill certification. Additionally, Haesung DS continues to invest in reducing the use of packaging materials and expanding recycling efforts, reducing plastic waste, and recovering copper pipes from spent acids to enhance resource circulation.

Mid- to Long-Term Goals

Achieve a 100% waste recycling rate by 2030.

As a result of continuous efforts to promote waste recycling, Haesung DS achieved a 99% waste recycling rate in 2023 and obtained zero waste to landfill certification from the international certification organization UL in 2024.

Haesung DS has set a mid-to-long-term goal of recycling 100% of its waste by 2030 and is committed to utilizing resources in a sustainable manner.

Resource Circulation

The South Korean government is promoting efficient resource use throughout the entire lifecycle of products and aiming to minimize waste generation through the "Act on Promoting the Transition to a Circular Economy," effective January 1, 2024. If Haesung DS cannot timely secure the increasing resource usage (such as raw materials and water resources) due to business growth, it may significantly impact business expansion.

Response Measures
By establishing a resource circulation process and installing wastewater reuse systems, Haesung DS is implementing a resource circulation framework that allows limited resources to be utilized sustainably. Haesung DS also publicly discloses these activities through verification by third-party organizations.
